Career and Life Management (CALM) 20 is a compulsory 3 credit course for all Alberta high school students who wish to qualify for a high school diploma.  CALM is the core program for health literacy at the senior high level and is designed to help students make well-informed decisions and choices in all aspects of their lives.  It is also intended to assist them in their development of behaviors and attitudes that contribute to the well-being and respect of themselves and others, now and in the future.

This course is designed to give you greater proficiency in mathematics and will increase the opportunities that are available to you as an individual. As a student in Math 20-3 you will be preparing yourself logically for entrance into the workforce of the 21st century. This includes probing concepts, skills and ideas involved in specific trades.

Mathematics-2 is designed for students who want to attend a university, college, or technical institute after high school, but do not need calculus skills. A 20-level math is an Alberta Diploma requirement.

The Mathematics 10-3 or “Apprenticeship and Workplace Math” course is for students planning to enter the majority of trades or the workforce immediately after high school. Students progress from Grade 9 Math to Math 10-3, Math 20-3, and Math 30-3.

In Alberta, high school graduation requires only ten credits from Senior High Math courses. In the -3 stream, students have the option of completing a 30 level course for extra credits or for admission requirements towards apprenticeship programs.

Media and Cinema 25 explores the ways in which other cultures/national identities are represented by themselves as well as others. This course also investigates how cultural/national identities are developed or shaped by media and cinema.”

Media and Cinema 15 examines the history of the medium, including the development of production and exhibition technologies that broadened the impact of the subject matter The course will also explore the way in which history is portrayed and presented in the media and cinema, as well as the significant changes throughout cinematic history.
