Welcome to my 2026–2027 Professional Growth Plan presented as a Moodle course, because a plain document about improving Moodle just felt a little too ironic. Explore my goals, ideas, experiments, evidence and reflections as I work toward creating more engaging, intuitive and meaningful online learning experiences for students.
In Social Studies 20-2, you’ll explore what it means to belong to a nation and how nationalism has shaped Canada and the world. You’ll look at major events such as the French Revolution, World War I, and Nazi Germany, as well as some current issues involving Canada and other countries.
Throughout the course, you’ll explore different perspectives, learn why countries and groups make certain choices, and think about how these choices affect everyday people, like you! The focus is on understanding important ideas, making connections, and sharing your own point of view.
Prerequisite: Social Studies 10-2
Course Overview
In Social Studies 20-1, students will examine historical and contemporary understandings of nationalism in Canada and around the world.
Students will explore the origins of nationalism and consider how nationalism has affected individuals, communities, and nations throughout history and today.
Nationalism • Ultranationalism • Supranationalism • Internationalism
Throughout the course, students will examine these ideas from multiple perspectives and develop informed personal and civic responses to important issues related to nationalism.
The goal of Physical Education is to help students develop the knowledge, skills, and habits needed to lead an active, healthy lifestyle.
Throughout the course, students will explore how they are currently active, ways to add more physical activity into their daily lives, and the benefits of living a healthy, active lifestyle. Students will also participate in a variety of physical activities and work toward building habits that support lifelong active living.
Students will complete a combination of online Benefits of Activity assignments, physical activity logs, and in-person or video activity sessions to demonstrate their learning and participation.

Description: Students are introduced to the proper use of word processing software, including document creation, editing and printing of properly formatted documents.
